II. Application requirements

(I) Uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, be willing to serve socialist modernization, possess good moral character, and abide by laws and regulations.

(II) Applicants must hold one of the following degrees:

1. Individuals who have obtained a master’s degree and master’s degree certificate.

2. Current master’s graduates (must obtain the master’s degree certificate before enrollment at the latest). Individuals with overseas master’s degrees must obtain a ‘Certificate of Overseas Academic Degree’ issued by the Ministry of Education’s Study Abroad Service Center before enrollment (the specific enrollment date is subject to the Admission Letter).

(III) Physical and mental health must meet university regulations.

(IV) Candidates applying with equivalent academic qualifications must meet the following conditions: obtained a bachelor’s degree 6 years or more ago (calculated from the date of bachelor’s degree acquisition to doctoral enrollment); completed master’s level courses related to the doctoral major (with a transcript from the university’s graduate management department); published 2 academic papers related to the doctoral major in domestic or international core journals as the first or second author; received provincial/ministerial level or higher scientific research awards, and generally hold a senior associate professor title or above (or equivalent); individuals confirmed by our university to have equivalent academic qualifications to master’s graduates. Each doctoral supervisor can recruit a maximum of 1 candidate with equivalent academic qualifications per year.

III. Application process

(I) Online application

Before online registration, applicants should carefully read the ‘Northwestern Polytechnical University ’Application-Assessment’ System Applicant User Manual’ (see attachment).

Notes：

1. Applicants must ensure that the submitted registration information is accurate and complete and pay the registration fee promptly before online registration closes,After online registration closes, the registration system will automatically shut down, making it impossible toModify online registration information. Applications without timely payment of the registration fee during the registration period will be invalid, and the registration fee is non-refundable once paid.

2. Applicants must log in to the doctoral online registration system after 9:00 on December 3 to check their application qualification review status. Those who did not pass should resubmit application materials based on the rejection reason before 12:00 on December 4. If it fails again or if materials are not resubmitted by the deadline, the application will be invalid.

(II) Submission of online registration materials:

1.‘Northwestern Polytechnical University Application Form for Doctoral Candidates’, which must bear the official seal of the human resources department of the applicant’s archival unit.

2. Two recommendation letters from professors in the applied discipline, one of whom should be the applicant’s master’s supervisor (an associate professor or equivalent professional technical title is also acceptable).

3. Academic Qualification and Degree Certificates.

(1) Applicants who have obtained a Master’s degree:

① Academic Education: Bachelor’s and Master’s degree certificates, Bachelor’s and Master’s graduation certificates, Bachelor’s and Master’s ‘MOE Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate’;

② Non-academic Education: Bachelor’s and Master’s degree certificates, Bachelor’s graduation certificate, Bachelor’s ‘MOE Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate’, Master’s ‘Online Verification Report of China Higher Education Degree’ or ‘Degree Certification Report’;

③ Applicants with overseas degrees: Bachelor’s and Master’s graduation certificates, ‘Certificate of Overseas Academic Degree’ issued by the Ministry of Education’s Overseas Study Service Center (with QR code).

(2) Current Master’s graduates: Bachelor’s degree and graduation certificates, Bachelor’s ‘MOE Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate’ and Master’s ‘MOE Online Verification Report of Student Status’. International current graduates must submit proof of expected graduation before enrollment in the admission year.

(3) Applicants with equivalent academic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and graduation certificates, Bachelor’s ‘MOE Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate’.

《MOE Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate》《MOE Online Verification Report of Student Status》When inquiring on CHSI website, pleaseselect the longestvalidperiod. Applicants who graduated before 2002 must submit a ‘China Higher Education Qualification Certificate Report’.

4. Current graduates must provide transcripts for Bachelor’s and Master’s stages (must be stamped with the official seal of the relevant college or the school’s academic affairs department).

5. Valid ID card (front and back), current Master’s graduates must provide student ID card.

6. Master’s thesis abstract in Chinese and English (current graduates provide Master’s thesis introduction and research progress).

7. Proof of foreign language proficiency (e.g., CET-6, TOEFL, IELTS certificates or score reports).

(III) Qualification Review

1. University preliminary review. After applicants submit online registration information and pay the application fee through the online registration system, the university’s graduate admissions office will review their application qualifications. Applicants whose applications are not approved must resubmit application materials based on the rejection reason. If the application is rejected again or materials are not resubmitted by the deadline, the application will be invalid.

2. Mail application materials.

Candidates who have passed the qualification review must mail the following materials to our institute by April 30 (postmark date to be used as the

(2) Published (or accepted) academic papers, university-level or higher award certificates, or other materials that can prove the applicant’s research ability and level (including full paper, journal cover and table of contents copies, paper indexing proof and CAS journal分区 information; copies of science and technology achievement awards, competition award certificates, and ranking proof, etc.).

3. Admissions unit review.

The institute will review the application materials of applicants who passed the online qualification review, and select candidates for comprehensive assessment based on a certain admission differential ratio.

IV. Comprehensive Assessment

Our institute will organize no fewer than five experts to review the applicants’ materials and select candidates for comprehensive assessment based on a certain admission differential ratio. The comprehensive assessment will be conducted through on-site interviews, mainly covering ideological and political assessment, foreign language proficiency assessment, and professional comprehensive ability assessment (among which, applicants with equivalent academic qualifications will take additional tests for 2 core Master’s courses of their applied major).

(I) Ideological and Political Quality and Moral Assessment

Assess applicants’ political attitude, ideological performance, moral character, observance of laws and regulations, academic integrity, and honesty.

(II) Foreign Language Proficiency Assessment

Assess applicants’ professional foreign language proficiency and listening and speaking abilities, as well as their ability to read and comprehend foreign language professional literature.

（III）Professional Comprehensive Ability Assessment

Candidates will use PPT to report on their master’s study, academic and research achievements, and doctoral study and research plans, with a time limit of 10 minutes. The expert panel will ask questions based on the report to assess the candidate’s professional foundation, research potential, comprehensive ability, and innovative practical ability. The Q&A session will be no less than 10 minutes.

The re-examination arrangements for the comprehensive assessment will be announced separately. Please pay attention to the notices on our institute’s website.

V. Admission

（I）Calculation of Comprehensive Assessment Score

Comprehensive Assessment Score = Foreign Language Proficiency Assessment Score × 20% + Professional Comprehensive Ability Assessment Score × 80%.

Ideological and political quality and moral character assessment will not be scored; candidates who fail will not be admitted.

A comprehensive assessment score below 60 points will be considered a failure, and the candidate will not be admitted.

（II）Calculation of Total Admission Score and Admission Principles

Total Admission Score = Material Review Score * 0.3 + Comprehensive Assessment Score * 0.7

Admissions will be made in descending order of total admission scores, according to the enrollment quotas for each major. Candidates with a total admission score below 60 points will not be admitted.

VI. Information Disclosure

The Institute of Unmanned System Technology will publicize the re-examination plan, the list of candidates participating in the re-examination, the total admission scores, and the list of proposed admitted candidates (the proposed admission list will be publicized within three working days after all re-examinations are completed).
