Northwestern Polytechnical University and CSSC 716 Research Institute Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

NPU News Network, November 23 (Fan Lin, Photojournalist Lu Di)On the morning of November 22, Northwestern Polytechnical University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the 716th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Institute 716). Both parties agreed to close cooperation in joint talent cultivation, basic research support, engineering technology breakthroughs, and application of research findings, promoting win-win development.

Our university’s Party Secretary Zhang Wei, Deputy Party Secretary Zhang Jun, and Assistant President and Dean of the School of Marine Science and Technology Yang Yixin, along with Gu Hao (Director, Institute 716) and Yang Fubiao (Director, Science and Technology Department), attended the signing ceremony and discussions. Zhang Jun and Gu Hao signed the strategic cooperation agreement. Yang Yixin and Yang Fubiao signed the ‘NPU-716 Underwater Equipment Engineering Center’ cooperation agreement. Bai Junqiang, Executive Vice Dean of the Institute of Unmanned Systems Technology, and Yang Fubiao signed the ‘NPU-716 Marine Unmanned Systems Engineering Center’ cooperation agreement. Zhang Jinle, Director of our university’s Development Planning Department, chaired the event.

Adhering to principles of ‘complementary advantages, collaborative innovation, long-term cooperation, and common development,’ both parties will leverage the strengths of research institutes and universities, combining their engineering technology and application expertise with basic research and frontier exploration. They will jointly establish industry-academia-research cooperation platforms, develop scientific research projects, and recruit and cultivate talent, fostering a virtuous cycle of industry-academia-research-application, improving the scientific and technological innovation system, promoting collaborative innovation, and facilitating mutual development. By jointly establishing the ‘NPU-716 Underwater Equipment Engineering Center’ and the ‘NPU-716 Marine Unmanned Systems Engineering Center,’ they will cultivate scientific and technological projects and facilitate the transformation of research findings in areas such as underwater equipment and marine unmanned systems.

Responsible comrades from the Development Planning Department, University Office, Student Affairs Department, Graduate School, Science and Technology Management Department, Human Resources Department, School of Marine Science and Technology, Institute of Unmanned Systems Technology, and other units attended the signing ceremony and participated in discussions.
